A boast, a request and a promise (repost)
Hi! posting this again, as it seems most subscribers didn’t receive the email.
A MILESTONE (a boast really) 🙂
In June this year, somewhere between Chiba and Narita, Japan, I tripped the magic 24,901 mile (40,075 km) mark – the circumference of the Earth at the equator. With three more continents for me to explore, I’m not coming home for a while yet!
A REQUEST
This website now has over 7,000 subscribers! Unbelievable, but also rather suspicious! The subscription manager plug-in I installed when this website was a ‘family and friends’ only affair has proved inadequate for managing a bigger list and keeping out fake subscriptions. That tool is no longer serviceable, so the time has come to bite the bullet and put in place a more robust system. Unfortunately there is no painless way to do this – no reliable service will allow me to import an existing mailing list.
Although updates on here have slowed to a trickle in the last couple of years, this is going to change soon! My output has been diluted across Facebook, YouTube and this website. From here on this website will be my main focus and I intend to post more regularly when I reach countries that don’t have such tight visa deadlines. I miss the ‘good old days’ in Asia when I could afford to take days or a week off to think, write and share stories. Hopefully once I am into Central and South America, this will become possible again.
Stories and photos from my year in South Korea will follow soon, and travelogues from Japan and North America thereafter 🙂
Thanks (and tailwinds!)
Dan

loved mission implausible- cycled Seoul to Busan, great fun, but I couldn’t imagine trying to live in a city (even a small one ) in Korea. Great insight into that and yourself.

Thanks, Kerry! I guess we learn most about ourselves when we step out of our comfort zone.
Dan.
PS thanks for the offer 🙂
